Now this really is living the dream!!!
Today I went to visit the yarn shop, Yarniverse. I discovered that it is moving to a new location with a new owner {ED. NOTE – No information was available on the new location or owners. Check the web link for further details}. It has been at its current location for 20 years – a staple in Memphis and will be moving because of a lease issue. This seems quite sad to me but I have seen it before in Little Rock. Shop owners have to make big decisions sometimes over letting their long term shops go. It can be tough but can lead to new beginnings!
OMG – it’s on sale??? Of course I’ll take it!!!
Yarniverse was having a moving sale so everything was marked down. I found some yarn I’d never seen before! It is Supersocke, a sock yarn knit on size 5 needles! I almost always have a sock in my purse. They are just so portable and everyone needs socks as some time or the other 😊. I have always used fingering weight sock yarn (except for hanging around the house socks).
I’m excited to have a yarn that will knit up to a boot sock weight that is already dyed to give me a lovely pattern! I’ve tucked it away while I finish up some other projects {ED. NOTE – like the scarf that was promised to be complete prior to June}.
And now I have another project – :-)!!
I also bought a skein of Anthem by Cascade Yarns to knit a messy bun beanie for my lovely DIL. She has beautiful, long brown hair that is worn up most of the time and I was ready for something else to work on. However, she did request it in black – I know, I know, it goes with everything but I am not a fan of knitting in black! Its hard to see the individual stitches but it’s a small accessory so I will begin it soon. Progress report to come on this so tune back in soon!
Love the editor’s comments!
Of course you do!!
