October 16, 2020 – Fort Collins, CO

Posted on October 19, 2020 by Pam

I really didn’t expect all the Apocalypses to happen all at the same time!!!!!

The Cameron Peak fire has been burning for almost two months now and has burned over 164,000 acres. We have had days of hazy skies and the slight smell of burning wood here in Fort Collins but when the winds kicked up last Wednesday, this is what we saw. Please pray for those on this side of the country fighting and fleeing these fires.

Mary and Paul would be proud!!!!!!

(We’ve started watching the Great British Baking Show – LOVE it!)

The hubs and I went for breakfast at a coffee and pie shop called Me Oh My Coffee & Pie in Laporte, Colorado about 3 miles from our KOA. They had just taken these bacon, egg and cheese galettes out of the oven. We thought it would just be a wedge and each ordered one – they were the size of a plate! And VERY yummy! We’ll be going back.

We had about 2 beautiful, very clear days without smoke haze here in Fort Collins. This is the blue sky I love in Colorado!

Yeah you have!!!!!

I have been knitting! Below is a little sweater and hat set for a new little boy born in Little Rock. The pattern is MK#3 Baby Cardigan by Robyne Conway. I chose not to do all the increases for the “swing” look since this is for a little boy but otherwise followed the pattern as written. It turned out beautiful, if I do say so myself. The other knit I’ve been working on is the Little Bagstopper by Amy Singer. As you can see in the picture below, I ran out of yarn on the handle before being able to bind off!  Uggggghhhh! I tried knitting back a couple of rows but that just didn’t work out. After finally ripping out the entire handle, I finagled it to finish the handle and bind off. It’s lovely and ready to be gifted! I’ve already cast on for another one!

I haven’t been to any yarn shops in a while – been using yarn from my stash😊. (Should have gotten high praise from the editor here!!) Hopefully, I’ll be visiting some new ones soon! Stay safe and stay tuned!
