Headed home!!!!!
We left Missoula and headed toward Durango, Colorado for the next two weeks. It was gonna take all weekend so we stopped in Moab, Utah at Archview RV Resort & Campground for Saturday night. The park was 5 minutes from Arches National Park. A beautiful red tower greets you as you leave the park. It was just a drop in the bucket of what we would see Sunday morning at the park.
Moab
But first, I did a little exploring in Moab, a lovely town with fun shops and restaurants up and down the small main street and there is a yarn shop! I went there as soon as we set up at the RV park.
Desert Thread is a fabulous yarn shop tucked down a road right off Main Street, across from the Moab Visitor’s Center. The shop is small but packed with yarn, fiber, samples and felted items. I enjoyed looking over all the yarn and items in the shop – one go around wasn’t enough to see everything. This worked out well, since Cathy, one of the owners, gave me shelter when a storm blew up quickly. It was mainly wind, dust and a bit of rain but the wind was crazy – blowing sideways! A couple of young girls came in at that time also to say hi and take shelter – they were at the annual Scottish Festival right down the block. (So sorry we missed that but…)
The shop had some of the most beautiful and creative felted items I’ve ever seen before – Cathy said her sister was the creator. There were felted scarves, hair ornaments, small acorns, sheep made out of pine cones 😃 and these sweet little needle (or pens, pencils, etc.) pockets.
The hubs and I decided to have dinner in Moab but everything was so busy (Saturday night…) so we went to the food truck park and had a yummy, eclectic dinner. As we headed back to the truck, a MARVELOUS rainbow stretched across the sky from one end to the other. I’ve never seen so many people running out of stores and restaurants to take pictures. During the next few minutes, another rainbow appeared above it forming a double rainbow. It was truly glorious! (Ed. Note – Yes, yes it was!!!!)
The next morning at 6:00 a.m. 🙄, the hubs and I headed for Arches National Park. (Ed. Note – That’s normal waking up time for folks that aren’t semi-retired!!!!) I had been told the day before when checking into the RV park that we needed to get there really early to get a parking space – so we did! And honestly, I’m pretty glad – look at this picture of the entrance gate as we were leaving at 10:00!
Sunshine almost always makes me high!!!!!
We went to The Windows section of the park and watched the sunrise through the Double Arch. Beautiful!
Some of the other sights in the park!

It was a wonderful surprise to both the hubs and I to be able to visit another national park on this trip! What fun! Oh, I finished my boot socks just in time to wear them to hike a bit in Arches! (Ed. Note – So, you can be motivated to get to it!!!!)
LOVE all pictures and seeing/reading your adventures!
