And that’s why the call them the Blues
So, I’m finally officially tired of winter – even here in Colorado. Winter in Colorado is MUCH better than any other location I’ve spent winter in, but I’m done. Ready for some balmy 60 degree weather. I’m also ready to explore a new place – oh, the woes of my life (just in case you can’t tell, that is pure sarcasm – I have a very blessed life and I know it). (Ed. Note – Yes, you do!!!!!)
If you’re gonna be SAD, at least you can salve that with shopping!!!!
As a little pick me up, I decided to visit my FAVORITE yarn store in Fort Collins. There are three and all quite nice but my personal favorite is The Loopy Ewe! It’s a nice large place, very organized with white shelves and rows from front to back. I really wasn’t looking for anything in particular, maybe some nice fingering weight yarn for a summer shawl for my mom or myself. And do they have some fingering weight yarn! Oh my goodness, the sock yarn options are out of this world! Beautiful variegated (or solid, if you like) options to dye for! (Ed. Note – See what I did there?!??!?!) I tucked a couple of skeins back in my brain as I continued to walk on. Plus, The Loopy Ewe carries loads of indy dyer options. A new addition since the last time I was here were small, laminated signs with the name of a yarn, a picture of the dyer and a bio. It was like walking up and down the aisles of a comfy library – I used to LOVE going to the library. There was only one other person shopping and one person working up front, so I just took my time. It was fantastic!
So, keeping in mind the couple of skeins I saw for summer shawls and after looking at some FUN tote bags (no Editor, I didn’t buy one-it was very hard), I came to a table with samples displayed and saw an adorable toddler size 3 sample. I’m not going to tell you what it was because it will be for my niece and sometimes her parents read this blog and I want it to be a surprise! It will be a quick knit and the color yarn I picked will go lovely with her sweet face and blonde hair 😊 (Ed. Note – Ha! Like folks read this!!!)
This fun little yarn shop visit has given me a great diversion to my winter blahs and I can’t wait to get started!!
Perk up. Winter is almost over. It is 71 here today! BUT, it will be in the mid-20s Sunday night. Lol.
